There seems to be no way around eventim for artists, so I'll have to buy tickets from them even though I'd rather not.

Non-existent customer service, ticket delivery via mail (extra cost) or digital. The latter has to be printed out and folded in a special way, otherwise it is not a valid ticket. That's right, the barcode of the exact same PDF could be read from a display as well, but that would be less trouble for the customer. Ticket delivery to your phone wallet? Not with their 90's technology.
