Paid for a 5-door compact car for 30 days in Cape Town. Rental co could only offer 4-door which was not suitable as we have a bike which will not fit in a 4-door. We had to pay again - over £1000 - to another company for a replacement car plus 2 taxis and a hotel in Cape Town for the night together with a 30 minute premium rate call to Holiday Autos customer care line. Holiday Autos are refusing to refund me as they say I booked a 4/5 door car. All their paperwork states 5-doors. DO NOT BOOK with Holiday Autos.
I booked a car online and the payment was taken. Hertz were unable to supply my car. I am still waiting for a refund. Holiday autos requested a copy of the call from Hertz which I was able to supply as it was on voicemail. They then switched to emailing me in Spanish 🤷♀️I have started the complaint process twice. I am going to trading standards and the British rental vehicle people soon to investigate. If anyone else has a similar experience you would like me to raise my email is clairemalyon@aol.com
This is a clear and honest way. Took our card details on arrival. When got home took money straight out account of 160.00 not saying what it was for. Emailed customer services who took weeks to respond from start of November. They got back yday saying the reason was we had add ons at check in (totally incorrect) and we didnt top up with fuel (we topped up with fuel 2 miles before drop off on return). All in all customer care have closed the case. Its almost like a routine thing for them to do and are used to doing this. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE THIS COMPANY! We are not getting the money they have wrongly taken out our account. Reading reviews they do this all the time
Paid for top insurance and full to full fuel on line
When collecting car they tried to sell me more insurance which I declined
They said they needed to take a fuel deposit and instead stole 287 pound out my account .
